It says the same by me, if i want to join it says "Outdated server! I'm still running on 1.8.8!"... (I am running on 1.9.3 optifine, it should work...) It's pretty anoyying... But i'll wait

You could just use paint.net. (Its free!) And if you need to search skins, you could use a mobile app called Utk.io. I don't know if this helped, but I hope so. Potatoes must stay the same! -
